Past Lives, Karma and the Body: Part One

The immediate impact of exploring past lives

Most of the clients I deal with experience some type of emotional release after accessing their Akashic Records. People discover such a wide variety of information during our sessions. Sometimes what they learn evokes warm and loving feelings. Other times, it ends up being the thread that unravels the Gordian knot of what that they feel is wrong in their lives.

After interacting with the Akashic Masters, people connect the dots between what they’ve experienced in other lives and the patterns and beliefs they currently have. It can often trigger an emotional reaction. I always remind clients to be kind to themselves after a session, to rest and drink lots of water as the energy of what they’ve realized moves through and out.

The other piece of the puzzle

What I’ve come to understand is that people hear what I say and apply it to their emotional world. They may take a nap or a bath. They get a massage or use a vacation day. But they don’t consider that these major revelations could have an impact on their bodies.

Clearing of any kind must go through the physical body as well as the emotional and mental ones. I think many expect to cry or feel a little lethargic as the old energy moves through. But they don’t realize the many ways it can affect the body.

Margot’s story

Margot and I had been working together for a couple of years when she reached out after being prompted to do an Akashic session while meditating. What we discovered by opening Margot’s Akashic Records helped her understand the drive she had to always take control and lead.

At this stage of her life, she was unsure behaving this way was in her best interest. “I can’t seem to leave things alone when I see how it could be done better,” she admitted. “I do it at church with the committee I’m on and everyone appreciates it. But at work,” she laughed. “Well, that’s a different story.”

The Akashic Masters showed us a life where Margot had been a soldier in a platoon where everyone died because of irresponsible leadership. The soldiers were ordered into what was essentially a trap and the resulting trauma had been brought with her into this life.

It was a very emotional session, but even in the middle of it, Margot expressed her appreciation for the understanding of why she felt compelled to lead, to wrestle control away from whoever had the authority. “I’ve been questioning it lately, wondering if what I was doing was coming from the right place,” she told me.

We cleared the karma and fear from that lifetime, and even though I’d given her my standard self-care caveat, I wasn’t surprised to hear from her a few days later. “I feel like I’ve been in a car accident,” she said. “Nothing really hurts enough to go the doctor, but everything aches.”

Finding kindness and comfort

I reminded Margot of the enormous trauma we’d uncovered and encouraged her to identify ways she could take care of her body. “I thought maybe I’d feel tired,” she confessed. “But this really took me by surprise.”

It didn’t surprise me. When we learn about our experiences in past lives and do the work to clear them, the body is involved whether we like it or not. If you have this experience, listen to your body and seek professional medical advice if you are led to do that. Most of the time, however, if you’ve just cleared emotional baggage from a past life,  your body is going to be involved as the energy of the old moves out.

After our conversation, Margot decided to take a couple of days off from work and gift herself with a four-day weekend. She took bubble baths, got a gentle massage, took herself out for dinner and most importantly, she listened to what her body told her it needed. Rest and removing judgment of any kind had her feeling good as new and ready to return to work with a different attitude.

Next month, I’ll share Bella’s story. There are myriad ways the body can respond to clearing past life issues and I want to offer one more example to hopefully start a discussion around this very important subject. When we experience things in isolation, it can play with the mind. I want you to know you’re not alone.

To help add a touchstone on your journey, I hope you’ll use the Prayer to help you create your best majestic body, which is meant to support you during the ups and downs of life. Finally, please leave a comment about your physical experience and be sure to include how you felt after the energy cleared your body!

The Akashic Masters and I are here to serve and to support your healing journey, whether through connection with the resources on my site or a private reading.
