A new year is the perfect time to begin the shift into a new way of thinking. The Akashic Masters share with me that in order to truly step into our personal power, we must purge the illusions and false beliefs that limit our consciousness and keep us living small lives. Each month in 2023, I will offer their wisdom about the steppingstones that are necessary for you to be a thoughtful co-creator of a new Earth.
I want it now
With each passing year, we become more and more oriented toward instant gratification. Although the pandemic forced us to slow down, to be in the moment, I’ve witnessed the level of impatience people display get bigger and bigger. We get easily frustrated at checkout lines in the grocery store and complain about the wait in a drive-through to get a burger or cup of coffee.
We expect the things we order on Amazon or from other retailers to arrive immediately. Wal-Mart is even testing drone delivery to sate the need for immediacy. All of this continues to move us toward the belief that if we can’t get what we need or want right now, it’s not worth the wait. Nothing could be further from the truth.
If not now, when?
As I began to write this, the Akashic Masters reminded me of a client named Leonard. We met shortly after the worst of the pandemic was over while I was traveling. He was a charming young man, and the more we talked, the more he grew fascinated with the concept of the Akashic Records. When I returned home, I found an email requesting an appointment.
He shared with me that he had left his hometown to move to New York City. “I have a masters in musical theater and always dreamed of being on Broadway,” he told me. Less than a week after being hired for an off-Broadway repertory company, COVID shut everything down. Working at a local coffee shop just to pay his rent grew old and he had recently returned to the town where he grew up.
“I know it was the best decision,” he confessed. “But I did all the right things. This is all I’ve ever wanted to do, and it feels really unfair.”
Patterns and Karma
We opened Leonard’s Akashic Records to discover a lifetime where he owned a tavern, a community hub where people gathered for food and drink. He especially enjoyed the travelers passing through his small town and loved learning about places he’d never been.
No matter how hard he tried though, he couldn’t make a successful business of it. We felt the devastation when he shuttered the doors and watched as he took a job working on a farm just to keep a roof over his family’s head. The most telling piece was revealed in a private moment while he worked to attach a plough to an ox.
As he threaded the ropes through the metal loops, he talked to the animal about his disappointment. “I don’t know why I’m surprised,” he said. “I knew it was never going to work. It was just a matter of time.”
Let the process begin
Leonard was quiet for quite some time after we finished. When he finally spoke, he was emotional. “I never believed I could do it – get a role on Broadway,” he said. “Just like I never believed I could be a good baseball player in middle school or have a boyfriend or be successful with money. How long has this been going on?”
We went deeper into the wisdom from the Record Keepers about how patterns and karma from past lives are indicators of the aspects of ourselves that need to be healed. We touched on the fact that there is never just one thing, that becoming your fullest self means multiple baby steps to unravel what you’ve come to believe – beliefs that have nothing to do with the truth of who you are.
In my upcoming book, Your Soul Has A Plan, I emphasize that “Healing is essential for human evolution. Without the healing process, you cannot remember the truth of who you are. The key word being process.” This is the antithesis of the immediate gratification attitude that is so pervasive. Process requires patience.
Leonard returned to his life with a better understanding that believing in himself – his dreams, abilities, and talents – is a multi-layered process that isn’t going to happen overnight. But it is one that will free him more and more to be his true self with every step taken. Today, he is focused on those baby steps, those steppingstones. Although he isn’t yet where he’d like to be, he is more at peace than ever.
He continues to visit his Akashic Records, both on his own and together with me, to explore more of what will move him toward expansion. “My goal used to be Broadway,” he said the last time we visited. “Now it’s to be a conscious contributor to raising the vibration of the planet. Because to do that, I need to experience joy and that opens my world to all the ways I can experience that.”
Throughout 2023, I’ll address the most common steppingstones that need to be addressed to elevate your energy and participate in creating a new earth. The Akashic Masters assure me that this is the reason we are all here even though each of us may take a different path to get there. It will require process. It will require patience.
