What if every time you thought you were being punished for something you did in a “past life” it was really just a spiritual growth spurt? Whether it’s a difficult relationship, a challenging work experience or just a string of bad luck, the Akashic Masters ask me to remind you that viewing karma through the lens of judgment, a kind of spiritual “tit-for-tat” that keeps us looking over our shoulders, keeps us stuck.
The good news is that changing your perspective frees your soul to grow the way you intended before you incarnated.
What Karma is NOT
Karma is not a debt you are forced to pay back to an angry God.
It is not a sign that you are “bad”.
It is not punishment for something you did in another life.
What Karma IS
In the Akashic realm, karma is seen as a beautiful and essential tool for soul growth. It is the energy of imbalance that invites us to learn, to heal, and to finally return to our natural state of Divine Innocence.
It’s a teaching tool, a method of spiritual accountability for choices we have made in all of our lives. It is the universe’s way of helping us master our thoughts, emotions, and deeds.
Think of it as a course in “Earth School.” If you didn’t quite master the lesson of compassion in one lifetime, your soul — in its infinite wisdom — will create a new opportunity in the next life to try again. We are not being punished for the past; we are being given the chance to experience every facet of human life so that we may grow into the magnificent, expansive beings we were always meant to be.
Don’t Ignore the Wake-Up Calls
We often think of karma as “the big stuff,” like major life crises, but we actually experience “Micro-Karmic” lessons every single day. These are small, clear-cut moments that offer immediate insight into our spiritual state.
Imagine you are running late for work, feeling frazzled and impatient. You swerve around a slow driver, cutting them off without a second thought. Minutes later, you pull into the office parking lot just as someone else darts in and takes the last available space. That frustration you feel? That is a micro-karmic lesson.
The Record Keepers say these moments are not “bad luck.” They are gentle wake-up calls. Perhaps the lesson is to slow down and be patient, or to realize that you are moving too unconsciously through your day. If we listen to these small nudges and shift our energy in the moment, the karma is balanced instantly, and we can move on with ease. It is only when we ignore these gentle calls that the universe has to turn up the volume.
The More You Ignore the Lesson, the Harder it Becomes
If we continue to brush off the micro-karmic lessons, the soul may manifest a “brick wall” lesson. This is a literal or symbolic crisis designed to halt our forward motion and force us to look at the truth of our lives.
I remember a client named Julie who had spent months in a state of “over-giving” to her family while neglecting herself. She was exhausted and operating from deep unworthiness. One morning, she inadvertently stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake and drove her car literally into a brick wall.
Thankfully, no one was hurt, but the shock of the event woke her up. In her Akashic Records, we discovered a relentless karmic pattern of “doing to be loved.” Hitting that wall was her soul’s way of saying, “Stop! This path is no longer serving you.” Once she understood the lesson, she was able to withdraw from survival mode and start making choices that honored her own worth.
Getting Off the Karmic Wheel through Forgiveness
The ultimate goal of working with karma is to “get off the karmic wheel.” We have been running many of these patterns for thousands of years, like a hamster on a wheel that just keeps spinning. To break the cycle, we must move from a state of judgment and blame into the high vibration of forgiveness.
Forgiveness is the most powerful tool we have to clear ancient patterns. When we forgive those who’ve hurt us, we step in our evolution. By clearing our personal karma, we also contribute to the healing of Mother Earth, Gaia. We are currently rebalancing thousands of years of patriarchal energy on this planet, and your personal healing is a vital part of that global shift.
How to Begin to Clear Your Karma
The Akashic Masters offer these prayers to start the process of dissolving the karmic energy in your life. Use them daily to shift from a state of “debt” to a state of “growth.”
The Prayer of Forgiveness
“Divine, Spirit, Source, please move me into a state of forgiveness toward
anyone or anything that has hurt me, consciously or unconsciously,
from the beginning of time to this present moment. I now forgive them,
and I release the energy of the past. Please move me into a state of forgiveness
toward myself for any hurt I have caused others or myself. I invoke the grace and
power of forgiveness to transform my body, mind, and heart as I return to
a state of Divine Innocence. So it is. Blessed Be.”
The Prayer for Releasing Blame
“Mother, Father, Goddess, God, help me to grow so that I can comfortably
take responsibility for my actions and my life. I understand that
I AM a Creator Being having a human experience. I release old blame and
the belief that anyone has ‘done this to me.’ I stand in my power as a
Divine Creator of my life experience. So it is. Blessed Be.”
The Heart Mantra for Peace
“I am an infinite soul, having this human experience.
I grow and awaken with ease and grace.
All is in the perfect Divine right order.”
